So this was a customers Arosa Tdi that I’m on with current and it took absolutely ages to hand make but so satisfying that I’ve managed to get 95% accuracy to OEM.

Got to the point where I need to accept my Arosa is never going back on the road. Too much rot in the wrong areas. Some bits will live on, the engine and box are going into my mk1 Golf, but I would like the rest to carry on being of value to someone else. It's a 1999 Canica Blue 1.4TDi, Bilstein B6's all round, GTi rear axle, Audi TT steering wheel conversion, GTi washer bottle, full set of copper brake pipes for the non ABS model although I used a Polo GTi ABS mastercylinder so the fittings are larger to suit.

God I hate the design, every time it rains, because of the design (as it’s different to the lupo) the water just pours into the parcel shelf sides then into the boot when I open it.
Is it just mine or are others the same problem?

Hi guys. My epc light is coming on after a little while of driving. My brake pedal becomes spongey but still works. Got brake lights which I know is usually the issue. Anyone got an idea?

The arosa clocks I find are shocking as I can’t see the dials in daylight properly. I’ve come across a set of early ‘white’ dial lupo clocks which I can make use although my arosa is a tdi and not sure what the replacement was petrol/diesel So has anyone got any positive ideas if the rev counters are compatible?

Has anyone had any luck finding a debadged front grill for the mk2? Really struggling to find a debadged one and the one thats on the car is currently clinging on for dear life.

I can find loaads that fit seat leons that look similar but i'm not too sure if they would fit without needed to be modded..

Any links or suggestions would be great please

Hi, I recently purchased a 54 plate arosa for my son to learn in. The previous owner said there was a problem with the indicators but I thought it would be an easy fix ( how wrong i was 😂) so far we’ve changed the hazard warning switch, and changed the indicator stalk to no avail. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Gear selector shaft leak

Hi all, new member here.

My daughter's Arosa has the pretty common oil leak from the gear selector shaft so I thought I'd replace the seal.

Is it an easy job? I'll drain the gearbox and replace obviously but how easy is it to remove the seal? And do I remove it around the shaft?

Odd scuff and mark as to be expected with the age but does look really well. Has a slight crunch when selecting 4th if you shift too quickly but it’s 50hp so that’s not a worry. Slight blow from the exhaust due to it being lowered around 80mm.

Being as honest as possible, I absolutely love the car but I’ve got a new job which is a 100 mile a day commute and it’s just not getting driven. Will not accept any offers as it’s a bargain as it is, just after a quick sale.

Where am I likely to view a wiring diagram for the arosa in detail? I need to know what grey with thin blue stripe wire does (medium thickness not the thin ones) as there’s plenty all in the dash loom and I’ve eight identical ends to join.

I brought some new wheels 6Jx14”, sorted them out but I have no idea what size tyre to put on them.. currently have 185/55/14 but I’m putting the car on coilovers too so was thinking a lower profile or maybe a bit of stretch, anyone have any advice? 🙏🏻🤞🏻

Passenger door lock issues :/

Hi, just joined to see if anyone's got advice about my problem. I've got a Seat Arosa and the passenger door has recently decided it doesn't want to open. Took off the door card today and unclipped the wiring that runs to the window switch, when I plugged it back in the door lock was working perfectly for about 5 minutes now it doesn't want to unlock again. Could replacing the window switch have any effect on the door lock? Or is there a better chance of the wiring being faulty? Any advice is helpful, still learning a lot about cars

Hello all!

I have recently acquired a very very cheap 1.4 auto Seat arosa from a family member with the intention of fixing it up and selling it on (with a bit of luck, for a profit!) The main issue the car has apart from cosmetics is with the gearbox. The issue seems to present itself in 2 ways. 1. When under load i.e. accelerating up a hill the car often will not shift into 3rd gear, simply staying in 2nd untill it hits the rev limiter or I let off and it eventually gets its act together. 2. Also when changing from 2nd to 3rd gear (but not exclusively when under load) the car will select neutral or lose drive instead if engaging 3rd gear.

I appreciate its most likely very difficult to diagnose just based on a description however i was hoping someone could point me in the right direction.

I hope to fix the car myself with the help of some friends. We are fairly competent at car maintenance so we can most likely manage it. We just dont know where to look yet.
