EaRNi!
Okay so some of you read my thread about my key well, here is my step by step guide...some of the pics are from another forum by the way. i would just post a link but it isnt for the same thing.Ok so...You will need the following:A 1 to 1.5mm drill bit (i used a thin nail lol)A 5 or 6mm drill bitA drillA HammerA 2/3 button VW/Audi/Seat/Skoda fobA seperate blade cut to the same as your old keyso if you bend your original key hard, you will have something like this:the part you need is the chip, it is located just inside the part with the blade attatched. Gentle persuasion should get it out.Your new key fob opens the same as your old key, give it a good pull mine was quite stiff.you need to drill a hole about 6mm here:don't drill too deep though just so your chip will slide in nicely. Next, put your key back together.Hold it with the blade at 90degrees like this:if you look closely you can see the pin holding the blade in. use the 1.5mm bit and hammer to knock this out. you should have 3 bits:put the new blade in, put the pin back in and you're done. finished key:PROGRAMMING! :1. Turn on ignition with a working key and wind your window down as a precaution.2. Manually lock drivers door with your new key3. Press unlock on the remote you wish to tune in (new key in drivers door), wait six seconds, press unlock again. youll hear a blip.4. Now open the drivers door and remove the key from the ignition.Your new remote should now work. Hope this helps people!
Mike_M
If you remove the VW badge there is a screw under it that you remove to split open the upper half without drilling holes to put the imobilser chip in.Also the three button version has the boot open button that works on the GTI as it does on both of mine Edited October 20, 2007 by mike_m
