Have you changed the oil pressure sensor? Have you run any diags to see what code comes up?
  2. Can I just check your cars mileage as your advert says 120,000 miles yet in the description you say the timing belt kit was replaced in 2014 at 123k. Would you PX for a modified Golf MK4 GT TDI 130ASZ. By modified I don't mean just a few bits of tacky bodywork, I mean a proper fast road car running 281bhp and 425ftlb. I'm local to you in Beds. Thanks Steve
  3. I have sent you a PM. Just to let you know that I am an active member on the ukmkiv's forum too under the same username.
  4. Ideally with less than 100k miles but might consider higher mileage models if in top condition. Ideally not modified as I don't want anything on coilovers and wide wheels etc. I don't mind if it has been mapped as long as it's been done properly. Preferably the vehicle will be a 2001 onwards model (Y reg onwards) to benefit from £30 Road Tax. Non smoking car wanted. Ideally not red but will consider Red if it is in nice condition. If you wanted to px with a more powerful and modified Golf GT TDI then let me know so I can provide you with full details. Thanks Steve Based near Leighton Buzzard.
  5. Name. Steve Age. 40 From. Dunstable but now living near Leighton Buzzard. Job. Commercial Vehicle Business Manager (Mercedes-Benz Financial Services) Drive. MK4 Golf GT TDi 130 now running 281bhp and 425ftlbs ( I choose not to drive a Merc). Other. Have owned approx 30 cars, many models from UK, Germany, France and Japan. Probably going to sell the Golf to make garage space for a home gym and buy something smaller. Hobbies, including Running, Cycling (I've owned so many bikes it's unreal and love custom building them), Astronomy. Married and we have a Cat.
  6. On any TDi PD engine I stick with Quantum Platinum 5w40. Never use the longlife stuff. I just do 6k oil changes. I go to TPS for the oil, filter, air filter etc. Much cheaper than VW of course. I always use the old fashioned method too of sump plug removal. I always like to check for sediment, especially on my car as it's running so much power. I need to ensure it's in check all the time. My car never consumes oil though which is always a good sign of course. I think things like the Pela are good if you use them on a car that is new and are doing your own oil changes. The dregs of oil left in the car won't do any harm if you are changing the oil on a regular basis.
  7. Perhaps it wasn't mine you saw. The car doesn't sound that great being a diesel and when I'm not in gear the rattle of the single mass flywheel is loud. Acceleration is nice though as you can hear the sound of the turbo sucking in the air. lol I'm always sensible in town too. In fact, the car never really gets ragged as I want to keep it in top condition but I do go it some beans every now and then and it certainly gets the adrenalin flowing.
  8. This is my car. The giveaway will be the front mount intercooler. I've got a private plate on my car too. http://www.darksidedevelopments.co.uk/golf-mk4-pd130-1-9-8v-asz/ I've since installed a set of cream Recaro's in the car. Sold on the black Recaros's shown in this pic. Used to have R32 Konig's which were amazingly comfy.
  9. If I see you about I'll wave/flash.
  10. My original clutch started slipping on my Golf GT TDI 130 when it was mapped to 182bhp. That said, it would have lasted for many years if I hadn't had the remap. I'm not sure if the Arosa/Lupo TDi's use a generic Sachs clutch which is found in 1.9 TDi models. Someone may know.
  11. With the extra torque, have you noticed any clutch slip?
  12. Hi James, I'm just down the road in Hockliffe. I think I have seen your car about town. Forgot to mention that I have a Lupo connection with the mirrors fitted to my car. Lupo with Golf Mk4 electric internals. Makes getting it in the garage easier.
  13. Hi all, I am Steve (40 years young) and I live near Leighton Buzzard. I had previously registered on here a few years back but have since changed email address so had to re-register. I used to own an Arosa 1.4 TDI around 2005. Great car but had to sell it on to buy an old banger to make ends meet. Gutted. Many years later I currently own my 5 door Jazz Blue Golf GT TDI. It was a TDI 130 ASZ but it's been heavily modified under the bonnet. The exterior is largely standard other than a set of Ronal 6 spoke S3 wheels painted in BMW Metallic black, a Black front grille with 3M wrapped carbon badge and a -40mm drop courtesy of a set of KW Weitec Ultra GT shocks/springs in addition to a full set of Powerflex bushes. Another subtle change is a Sharan badge for the tailgate. Inside, I've currently got a set of Cream Recaro's and custom door cards. That's it. I don't have a headunit of any kind and just have a hole there at the moment. Not really into that stuff for my car. The main work is under the bonnet. A GTB2260VK Turbo, Tubular manifold, Custom downpipe joining onto a Milltek exhaust with discreet downturned pipes. The car has a custom single pass front mount intercooler, a Race camshaft and Firad + 120% injectors. To keep things in a straight lline I have a Quaife LSD. What I like about this expensive set up is the total driveability. It's still refined, total everyday reliability, still smooth and still economical and I get well over 50+mpg on a long steady run. Had I gone down the forged internal route it would have been supremely expensive and then of course the reliability issues can creep in. I am thinking about selling it (albeit reluctantly) as the wife and I have bought our new house and ideally I want to concentrate on getting our home nicely sorted. Ideally I am after a smaller car that I can fit into my garage and leave me with room for a treadmill that we can both use over the winter because being stuck in a village in the winter isn't very safe for running at night with limited footpaths etc.
