  1. thanks for the help, it turned out to be a bad crank sensor inside the gearbox, the phenom ring wasn't at TDC when the engine was... heres a pic of it timed up for those who didnt know
  2. ok thanks for the help, i really do help someone else can post on this topic, ive been researching for days and come to no luck at all
  3. Its got an map sensor as far as I'm aware, there was this little pipe PIC taken from another thread.. But the end of it snapped off, I have another but didn't think it would make such an impact, would the ECU numbers being different be the issue? Or would it not fire at all? Thanks for your help
  4. I haven't tried vagcom but I'm considering buying one, Are those codes useless? The original throttle body wasnt cable so a a straight swap I rang the guy who sold me the engine and he read the ECU part number out to me, it was all the same bar the last two letters... They were different would this be the case? The engine is 2 years newer than the car its going into
  5. paint the badge yourself dont get an LED badge that would look so tatty i cant even begin to explain
  6. 30 views and no reply? this is mega frustrating...
  7. Engine light is on & changed lambda sensor
  8. I've swapped the throttle bodies but still getting 3 error codes P0170 P0638 & P0638 again PLEASE HELP
  9. anyone?? do i need to swap throttle bodies? id really appreciate some help....
  10. Hi guys I recently changed the engine on my lupo auto Since the swap it runs lumpy for about 10 seconds and just cuts out, the electric throttle won't work at all and it doesn't rev... Can anyone shed some light on this? Cheers Sam
  11. Hi everyone, i'm hoping i've come to the home of the lupo where everyone knows lots about them! My name is Sam and I've recently bought a dark green, 1.4 16V AUA engined Auto, the engine had blown a hole through the block and so needed replacement... And here is the new engine being built up and put it.. I've just finished putting the new engine into the lupo but when i went to start it i got a loud clonk.... almost like the starter was stuck engaged, so i whipped it off and tested it on the bench and it seems fine. Now i went to turn over the engine by hand but it wont budge and i know this engine isn't seized as i heard it running before it was delivered, one thing i ought to mention is when i was putting the old box onto the new engine, there was a 1cm gap that i couldn't close between the gearbox and the engine, but i bolted it up and it closed the gap so i thought nothing of it, please can i have some insight? i really dont want to pull out the gearbox again Any help is greatly appreciated Cheers Sam
