  1. What about being too close could that be a factor? Regards
  2. Thanks for reply but the thing is the good key which I've lost works spot on everytime!
  3. Hi folks can anyone check my recent threads and shine some light on these issues? Regards
  4. is there a certain distance the chip should be from the ignition? ?
  5. Hi folks, still having key trouble, When I GOUGED the old RFID chip out of the broken key I had it damaged it quite abit exposing copper at the end of the chip It never worked before but recently It has worked when taped on the valet key. The key worked hit and miss for 2 days and has got less and less functional. I had the chip taped to the plastic casing on the coil directly underneath the barrel today and it still wouldnt work. Can anyone tell me is there a certain way the chip should face or if maybe the reason it started working was because MAYBE the gaffa tape bridged the 2 copper exposed bits at the end and that is what got it to function? Does the pickup coil signal get weaker with a low battery? only the other key (before I lost it) would work perfectly every time... Im just trying to bail myself out here and was told I can get a new key copied cheaply providing the RFID chip works nicely!... Can anyone give me any info on this matter? Kind regards
  6. you're right mate It's not working at all, is there any way I can retrieve my SKC code by calling VW or something similair? I'm really in the poo on this one... Regards
  7. Hello folks as some of you might have read in my last thread, my old man lost the keys to my lupo, Does anyone have VAG COM or VCDS in the newport south wales area to get the 4 digit security code out of my car so I can have a chip reprogrammed? If so please pm me your number and we can sort something out, obviously I'll sort you out cash wise Regards
  8. any suggestions gents? I ran a low grade cable across to what I thought was the 8mm connection and can hear it clicking open and shut when I touch the cable on and off but when attached (albeit not very well) the car still only ran for a second then cut out. Will try a thicker cable shortly
  9. Here is the thread http://forums.clublupo.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=83606
  10. Wasn't aware of this I thought vag com could only read the key? Thanks for reply though and I don't think it's that big a job I saw a thread on here regarding a seat arosa doing the same
  11. Hi fellas, Big fkin problem, dad used the car a few days ago and has lost the keys (mislaid who knows) HOPEFULLY they'll turn up as he locked the car and came to the house or may be on the lawn etc etc. Luckily I took the plastic valet key off the fob and kept it in my wallet, however this won't allow the car to run for more than a second because the stop solenoid kicks in (immobiliser) I know theres a way to bypass the immo by running a live to the stop solenoid (would probably run off headunit ignition cable or similair so I don't have to put a switch in and so it works off ignition) and am going to attempt this shortly as a temporary fix (until keys are found) Just wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction as to which cable I need to run the live to? Have read things about there being a cover over the solenoid or similair but have also read that you can use an 8mm socket to take the cable off the injector pump and then attach the live to that? Any help would be much appreciated here gents and I'm not asking you to help me steal a car haha I've got the valet key just need to bypass the immo until I find the keys or sort out a new set Kind regards and a reply would be very very helpful
  12. Hi folks found it now it was in the plastic bit underneath the wheel. Now I've got another question, the chip is a little bit damaged from where I had to remove it with great bloomin force from the fob (they must have used super super super glue to stick it) and After leaving the key in the ignition with the ignition on for over 10 minutes (with the chip sat next to it on the barrel entry) it still started up and cut out after a second. The car has a VERY VERY low battery, so could this be a cause for it not to pair up with the chip and hence the reason the immobiliser is kicking in? The chip is damaged on one end so that I can just start to see copper wire but can't see that the wire is damaged at all Regards
  13. Found the chip now but please read the reply below Regards
