Cold starting problems.

Hello,

I've bought a VW lupo 1.4 from 2000 2 weeks ago.

But is has starting problems.

When I try to start the cold engine, it will start but stops immediatly.

I have to put gas on it to let it running.

After the engine is warm it will run stationair but only on a very low RPM (around 500-600 rpm).

I've already cleaned the throttle body and airfilter.

But that didn't fix the problem.

Maybe one of you can help me.

Greetings martijn

You really could do with a OBD2 Scanner, these things can answer questions in seconds.

It could be a temperature sensor, or a lambda sensor. Lupo's don't have an idle control valve, they're part of the throttle body, so if you've cleaned that then your next stop is scanning.
