Not much to update

My new coilovers have arrived, just need fitting :)

My front bumper now need spraying, stupidly got too close with my jet wash :paperbag: schoolboy error..

Only thing is now- smooth the number plate recess, shorten it or leave it all together..

Decided on a standard recess.. :)

I've done a couple of little mods.. All I'm a tad unsure of.. :ninja:

Being an electrician means I can say " do like everybody else and put a 30amp in or a staple or the silver wrapper from the inside of a fag packet" but in all seriousness which circuit?

I live in brackley, but the girlfriend lives in towcester, so I'm there every day.. :) what do you drive?

Was this in response to the fuse blowing situation? :paperbag: Edited by Vwlup0

I see no harm in that, what circuit was it?

Not a clue what circuit.. The fan circuit? :paperbag:

basically, the fan worked but blew a 20amp fuse every time it kicked in, so I replaced it with a 30amp and its spot on now! :)

So I've started work on the new wheels.

I'm home refurbishing them as I'll use them as winter wheels and track day wheels!

EA7883BA-2209-408B-9172-DB61658167E7_zps

They're bbs rs771, I bought them thinking they're bbs rx2 off the polo GTI, but they're stamped rs771 so I guess I was wrong! :)

They only cost £50 though

They'll be going gold centres with a silver lip

Also my track day tyres have arrived at work.

They are a tad bigger than what I'm running on my bbs rw's, so I'll have to play around with the ride hight and spacing.

I'll see how I get on! :shades:

Update!

Well.. I finally got all mechanical stuff done that I wanted to do.

new brakes - mintex drilled groved and vented with mintex pads

new wishbones

new ball joints

new topmounts

new drop links

new inner arb bushes

new rear top mounts

I finally got my bbs wheels done, I home sprayed them in Arizona gold and autosoled the lips.

Fitted the tyres, and tried them on!

But.. They rubbed on the inside arch lining on the front! :( so.. I'll have to try a different option..

They looked alright though..

Next on the list is:

cambelt, water pump and aux belt.

new windscreen

bumper respray

I'm toying with the idea of new wheels.. And static+ but we'll see..

Thanks for reading! :)

Wishbones a pain to fit? I need to do my bushes so may be simpler to do the entire wishbone.

Relitivly easy coming out, disconnect the drop link, 1x16mm bolt - 1x18mm bolt and the balljoint. just a bit of a pigs arse to get the new one back in, but some shouting and grease and you'll be fine :)

Like the way those BBS look! Get spacers so they don't rub, ET is quite high on those...

Thanks! I would space but the tyres would rub on the outside of the arch, meaning I'd have to mess around with the ride hight :( it's a shame 195/50 is the smallest track day tyre you can get ..

It's a shame then, they look great!

How are you liking your AP's?

I know dude! :( thanks very much! Not too bad for a home spray job

They are good, just Seem to be a bit bouncy yet super stiff.. Nowhere near as good as the kw v1's

do you still have the RW's for sale?

Toying with the idea mate, pm me if you are interested

Had such a good weekend at USC, gutted it's all over now! :(

Had 8 runs down the strip with my best run being a 16.1, I was also leading on the handling course but I'm unsure if I won.

Anyway --

I do have a few videos, just unsure of how to upload..

All in all the lupo performed so well and I was surprised at some of the stuff I beat! :)

Good stuff, wonder how my MX5 would compare to your GTI on the strip. Maybe we need a race haha! :shifty:

I'd say roughly the same :)

Happily ;)
