Reedo
This is my Raven Blue Lupo GTI.. Bought as seen. Ive been looking for one for about a year now at an affordable price for a student, was really looking for a black one but couldnt find one. Then in the space of a week i found two lupo's in my village in good ol norfolk. I went and spoke to the guy, he was looking to rebuild it but he said hes happily sell it on. So £1300 later (sooooo so cheap) im the proud owner of a lupo. being a student it will be a long process of modding the car but it will get done over time the car has had an engine rebuild before i brought the car. bad points of the car gear box is very clunky and loud rusty brakes very dirty missing towing eye covers wheels are in bad condition rust on passenger door (only bubbling a small amount) rust on boot handle now introducing my new car Interior Sun glass holder Din Slot Interior Light SMD 'Xenon' bulbs Audio Exterior Golf Mk7 Stubby Aerial Polo Mk7 Aero Rear Wiper Arm LED Rear Number Plate Lights Engine Rebuild at 136,000 by Auto Shack VW Strut mount Covers Brakes Suspension Transmission Rebuilt at 119,000 By Anderson Engines Wheels/Tyres 16" BBS RC 321's 7.5J 4x100mm ET35. mickster
Such a bargain, no idea how much it'll cost you to fix it up but will probably end up being worth more than your total spend! Funny I have a black one and really was looking for a raven blue...

Nice job on cleaning it up paintwork looks in good condition.yeah there is the usual stone chips and that for an 11 year old car. bits of paint coming off around the edge of the door think thats because someone tried taking the drivers door off and lost the original pin, so it doesnt quite line up perfect. plus the massive bang when you open the door.Wow nice find! All your hard work on cleaning it up has really paid off, there is a lovely GTI under there! Glad you're ok after you crash too....yeah man its taken a loong time! still getting a few parts resprayed. probably the whole front end and the doors.......... **** it might aswell get it all done while im there if im doing that much ahaha.lovely colour cheers man
Reedo
small update.... Gear box has been done..... Not quite. spoke to a friend who currently works at VW he has informed me that the 2003 lupo gti develop a loud gear box. it is a common fault and is nothing to worry about. this is good so that will be £600 to spend on other things.still havent got the car in my possession as im in southampton and car is in norfolk. i will be driving it down one sunday so if people are up for it could do a mini meet at somewhere like south mimms on the m25? Reedo
OK so its almost been 2 years since i last updated this...... why you may ask? Problem after Problem after problem. In the two years I have had this car, I have been fixing the neglect from the previous owner. these below are just the mechanical side of things. Window Mechanism Gearbox Drive belt Sump HT Leads Coil Pack Cambelt Idler Head Gasket & Head Bolts Radiator Thermostat Engine Head Cambelt Lambda Sensor Vacuum Pipe Full Front brake system. Then came the problem of fixing some of the more cosmetic problems. Broken Sun visors Gear gaiter Seats Parcel shelf aerial Genuine centre caps Carpet Brand New towing eye covers Brand new filler flap. Some changes ive made over the two years, not many at all.... Aerial -> Mk7 Polo Aerial BBS RC 321 -> Sprayed shadow chrome Aux adapter New Seats LED interior Light LED Number Plate nights Its a shame i Havent been able to do more to the car so far i have many plans to come and one which has been done already. I was bored of the engine failing on me. So after a bit of help from someone I sourced an Engine with 90k miles on it and have just had it rebuilt by Auto Shack in Ipswich. The engine was rebuilt, here are some pictures from the rebuild More updates to come soon.
