donkey
I have a 52 plate seat arosa 1.4 stdi which has developed a couple of issues.first issue was a few weeks back, the horn started to crackle and eventually just stopped, I figured it was a loose wire slowly falling off but I never use it so haven't bothered checking it out. maybe not related to the main issue but thought best to mention if its linked via fuse, relay etc.I noticed the main issue a couple of weeks back, I noticed the fan wasn't coming on and I was losing water, for a 20min drive, I was having to top up half a litre of water. It appears the leak was coming from the temp sensor as the rusty water was directly underneath. also, the temperature hits 90 and doesn't go any higher or drop, it just sticks at 90.2 days ago, the car wouldn't start, all the lights was on and it was turning over but just not firing up.today, I fitted a new temp sensor & the car started perfectly first time, I left it running to see if I had solved the cooling system problem toobut the temperature stuck at 90 again, no fan and the temp sensor started to drip, it doesn't drip constantly, it just seems to drip when hot, guessing this is due to the pressure?my next port of call, is to change the thermostat but thought I would ask on here first to see if anyone can shed any light before I start spending unnecessary money.can anybody help? please
little red devil
common one is water pump failing and not pumping water round system .remove return pipe to top of coolant bottle start and rev engine up if no water spurts out of pipe it will mean pumps broken
Dblock
The gauge is a liar! It will say 90c from 68c to 95c+.
