Mikeyw978
I have just brought a seat arosa with standard wheels and alloys, I'm looking to change my alloys but keep the wheels if possible, how do I know if the alloys will fit my car (seat arosa 03) Thanks ? Dblock
Wheels and alloys are the same thing! You on about tyres?
Silver!
Assuming you want to keep the "tyres" look on the side of the tyre wall and you will see markings;something along the lines of 185\55\14185 is the width of the tyre tread area55 is the depth of the side wall in relation to the width (55% of 185 in the above tyre size) 14 is the diameter in inches of the wheel. So these tyres will fit a 14" "alloy" in the width of say 5" (with wall bulge) to 7" (with a bit of stretch).http://www.which.co.uk/cars/driving/car-tyres/best-car-tyre-brands/understanding-tyre-markings/
Mikeyw978
Thankyou:) so will I have to look for all of these when buying new alloys? Or just look for 14" alloys?
Silver!
Well if you intend on keeping your existing tyres, you will need to get 14" alloy wheels.Perfect size for an Arosa (without work) would be either 6, 6.5 or 7 inch wide. Look at some of the OEM VW and SEAT wheels as there are some really nice wheels.Need to be concerned about the offset\ET though. keep it in the 30s and it should be fine. You can always space them if you want to fill the arches.4x100 with a 57.1 centre bore will avoid the requirement for expensive adapters.http://www.rimstyle.com/pages/alloy_wheels_explained.html
