Little update to keep you guys sweet, why?, because I'm just that nice!

For ages I've had a burden upon my shoulder, a closed up and broken burden. That being my blummin' driver side window....

The days are getting hotter and the A/C is non existant, i and many other wish we had that luxury but I, I wish for a driver side window....

So i nicked the hole thing out of my buddies lupo that is destined for the big old scrap yard in heaven.

With a little help from some friends...

After lots of swearing and not really knowing what we were doing....it finally got done, only cost me a krushem... Cheers Sam!

Never really knew the luxury of a driver side window... drive thru's are alot easier to be honest.

Another little update is the GTI door cards arrived today and will be fitted in time for the weekend, they look rad!! just to re cover the door cards when the glue comes :(

Peace!

Ordered some very high temperature interior spray glue, so hopefully i can get this interior finally finished.

Change of plan for the rear of the car inside. Im going to take the rear seats out and make a false floor with a sub build just until I can get some seats that actually fit nicely unlike these rear audi seats that really don't look OEM, too much gappage for me!!

Thought i would just update you lovely people!

Ok so its been a pretty busy day actually, had a free day so of course the lupo got my full attention. following up from the last post i decided again the rear TT seats due to them looking a bit rubbish so i can up with the idea of the false floor with a sub and a space for certain little tank that may be coming in the future..... :shifty:

But anyways ill shut up and let the pictures do the speaking....

And there it is via the medium of imagery....

It wont be left wood, i will be diamond cushion stitching suede fabric to cover the whole thing and also using hard foam to make the peice fit up to all the endges and look smooth and not all sharp, hopefully this will be done by fitted....no i mean it will be done by fitted!!

So this weekend that just pasted was a big one, I finished my boot build other than the recovering part (Waiting for glue to arrive) The seats that i drove 500 mile round trip for are finally getting fitted. this will be a big post so grab a cool cool beverage and put your feet up...

First off i actually had to find the bloody things....anyone want so parts haha!

6B45CB49-DA80-4399-8F9B-EFB0746F1598_zps

Bosh got them, a bit crinkly due to having a lot of weight on the m but there cool, these are easily the comfiest seats I've sat in...

AA1B7F4C-E9A2-455D-B30B-D50F969E1864_zps

First off was getting them hooked up to a car battery and test them out and see if everything was work, this is where i found out that one of he runner wasn't working but we still pushed on, the brackets needed building so we took measurements and went to work shop!

Let me introduce you to the mastermind and the fabricator behind the fitting of the Audi seats, Julian, the man with the plan.

The plan was to make too steel brackets that fit across the old rails and bolt into the original front holes, so i can take these out and still run standard if i have too. we worked out a very sturdy design, a lot more safer than the original step by step on the forum.

As you can see were using some pretty big steel piece so its not flimsy and won't snap if i was ever in a collision. its a quite simple process but its the measurements that have to be on point. julian really showed this and every bolt and hole fitted perfect.

1F945103-D052-4FEA-B9EC-0970FCCC34CE_zps

ok so heres the front mount in final fitting. yes it will be sprayed don't worry guys ;) As you can see we used the original bolts, the safest and easiest option....if you have a welder that is!

24B77A13-6A43-4D5A-AC03-A928404142AE_zps

Final fitting of the rear bracket. You can see on the front bracket it actually goes right down to the floor plan for a sturdy finish :)

This is where the build goes to poo, we found the problem with the seats. to fit the driver side seat we needed to slide it all the way forward to access the bolts at the front. this little s**t is what drives the motor for the rail....a trip to audi is on the cards. nothing is ever easy!! On with it...

F24CC9AF-CC84-4E27-8995-645B0E38175D_zps

So we decided to go ahead and fit the passenger seat because the weather was being okayish. the seats sit quite far forward but with the electric's all plumbed in you can sit them rather bloody low and all the way back touching the rear seats. which I'm pretty stoked with.

723AB3C7-E9EE-4F38-8FCE-1D901062D1EB_zps

So this is the final product, passenger side...drivers will go in this weekend. annoying but there had to be a snag down the line somewhere. next up is the new carpet to go in and get the mounts sprayed up nice.

Cannot thank julian enough for helping me out on this project, they look dope and really different. No one else runs the electric versions of these seats so I'm pretty stoked!

Lets hope she's ready for Fitted!!

A little update,

After a few trips to different audi dealership and part places, the piece that i need for the seats to work is going to cost £245...yep a full new motor... which is a right ball ache. So my friend who is an absolute wizard is going to try and make me the piece so we can litter ally get the driver side bolted in and kept in the same place.

To bolt them in you have to slide the forward and backwards via the motor, but that little piece is pulling us back on the schedule!!

Pretty crazy to think I've only had the car 2 months and 2 weeks!!
