JampotJamie
I want to remove one of the silencers for some extra grunt noise wiseWhich one would be better to remove, mid or back box? My back box fell off once and its sounded pretty cool IMO (not to everyone's taste I know) but wondered if either affected power etc.

vDKx
Take the centre box out because it Only A resonator so it will make it a little bit louder Never black the back box it will sound terribleKendell
JampotJamie
After I thought about it, the mid box sounded the better option, and I'm guessing an easier job too? Am I right in thinking I won't have to weld any pieces on for the hangers with the mid box? Just clamp a piece of straight pipe in place of it? vDKx
I'm think there might still be hangers but it will be easier than the back box and as I say sound nicer
JoeA
If you take off the mid box and leave the backbox itll sound ****, they are not the same. You only need a piece of metal rod to make a hanger!

JoeA
It was I then got bored and swapped the mid box for a more free flowing box aswell. The backbox delete was an accidental discovery, it fell off! Drove it for a week or two like that and was impressed so we welded in a straight pipe with a bend at the end, used some rod which we bent to make a hanger and jobs a goodun! It was more of a refined sound once the pipe went on And for the record it's much easier to **** about with your backbox than your mid box, when I swapped the mid out we had the drop the whole front section of the exhaust which has a few steps in itself. Never mind the time we spent trying to slide out the sleeved joint between mid and cat.
