So, the poor little engine in my 1.0 Lupo is on its last legs. And rather than trading her in for a new cari want to change the engine. Too many memories and all that.

But, as I'm sure everyone's aware 1.0 engines are like rocking horse **** to find, and also not giving me enough go.

So my question is, I'm planning to source and put in a 1.2. I'll obviously change the clutch plate too but is there anything else that'll need changing? Engine mounts etc. Or is it a straight swap?

I don't think lupos ever had 1.2 engines.

The 3L was a 1.2 TDI, but I cant imagine the OP is condsidering that

Forgot about the 3L. Yeah if he thinks 1.0's are hard to find then there's not much hope for a 3L engine.

probably be better off trying to get a 1.0 polo engine and swap that over....

So hard to type lupo engine into eBay and watch 6 or more pop up, super rare engines are those 1 litres ?????

yeah and its a straight swap, no ecu issues..etc remember its a vw their motto is nothing is straightforward
