RS6plusMTM
I'm shortly going to get around to start modifying my Lupo, one of the first jobs on the list is to colour coding the lower bumpers. As the lower sections have a texture to them, which is the best way to smooth them out. A light skim of filler and sand back, or just sand back the textured plastic?Any tips from anybody who has done this prep work themselves? Curtis
Give them a good sanding with a low grit to rough up the surface, you need it rough to 'key' the surface properly. With this the primer can properly adhere to the surface, once thats had a few coats you can then smooth it down with a finer wet and dry. Then you can paint and laquer as normal. Just make sure to take your time, lots of thin coats is miles better than a couple of thick ones
