Fantastic!!

I've been looking at one of these for a while - wondering whether to get one, or a CD changer.

Nice to see it fits well!

How do you upload/download tunes?

Edit: Scrap that - just remembered you can take the drive out and you get a dock with it.

Does it work well with the Gamma?

Bloody hell if I knew you could get one of these, theres no way I would have changed my headunit!

Ok thats a lie, I would have had to scrap the Beta but you get the idea..

Was the £200 the genuine price they pay in the states, or did you get a deal?

Can you search for tracks or is it folder search only?

Works well with the Gamma Head Unit.

There is no info about the track displayed on the head unit It is all voice.

You can search By Album name or Artist or Genre or Playlist by pressing the `1-6` buttons. and then it speaks the names as you scan through.

I got mine from ebay here

Mikan Motors on Ebay

You get hit with a £50 charge from customs on top of this price.

There was an issue about Alternator whine coming through which I can just hear at high volumes but you can get rid of it by adding a supressor on the power line.

You can buy the supressor from Maplin for £4.99.

Madlupo...

The lead comes with an extra brown lead - guessing it's an earth.

Where did you put this?

Ta! biggrin.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

I attached it to a bolt on the left side of the dash.

It was visible after removing the trim on the left of the passenger footwell.

I've just `e-mailed` Gary...

"Gary,

Thanks for this, I'm still waiting for the authorisation amounts to come

through from Paypal, they should be coming through early next week.

However... I have noticed that the price of the Phatnoise has almost halved

in the past few days - I know that I have bid on the phatnoise, and that I

have not yet paid, and it is incredibly tempting to trade -1 feedback that

you might give me if I default on the deal for the $139 that I'd save buying

the lower priced phatbox! I would also save quite a bit on import tax.

Please can you let me know your thoughts on this - I would prefer an

amicable outcome if possible.

Best Regards,

John."

I'll see what he says.

OK,

Phatnoise arrived this morning!!!

They come with US adaptors for the docking station, so I've been out and bought a UK one, that works fine.

Now when installing the cable in to the car, I did put the seat down on it, which sheared the plastic coating of the cable. I hoped that it hadn't damaged it too badly, but apparently it has (I think).

So - new cable on order - rest of the kit works fine. (obviously not been able to test the actual unit yet)
