nick123
Hi!Basically my problem is i'm losing about a litre of oil every month.I have a 1.4 16v lupo S with 103k miles and k&n induction kit. I noticed when fitting the kit a few months ago that the crankcase breather pipe had disintegrated somewhat, the rubber had collapsed and the degraded, but not leaking. This morning while topping up the oil i noticed some mayo / sludge under the filler cap, I have not lost any coolant so I don't think it's the head gasket. So my question is do you think the cause of the oil loss/sludge is the collapsed breather pipe? If so what is the part number and can I change it easily myself? My engine code is AHW, cable throttle.thanks in advance!
Rich
It could be a multitude of things but the collapsed pipe is a VERY good starting place.
nick123
changed the oil & oil filter and PCV hose. No blue smoke, sludge has not returned.Breather hose just pulled off, went to a breakers yard and got one off a golf for free! saved myself £45 from VW!
