Has anyone had an experience with CO-OP insurance and declaring Mods?

Im with them and in the next few months i will be needing to declare stuff. i was just wondering if they would allow them for a start and how much they increase by?

my dad is going to hopefully ring them up soon and ask but i was just wondering if there was anyone on here. all id be adding is coil overs and Alloy wheels.

my policy is all legal. im the named driver, but hes got all the details for it.

but annoying that they wont allow coilovers. i guess il be changing insurers when my policy is up haha

"Any increase in wheel size at manufacturing stage as an optional extra is accepted" so i could put on Sport wheels?

they were an Optional extra for the car.

I'm with Brentacre, no added cost for suspension mods. Might be cheaper to wait for your policy to finish then go with a specialist and have you mods fitted as you renew your insurance.

Did you ask them about vw alloys? I'm on there young driver policy and they said they only allow optional extras that were done at the factor, currently on steels but want some g60's or lupo sport alloys :( Also want to swap my boring grey interior for the black and red sport one (exact same seats just different colour) but not sure if they class this as a mod :(

Standard equipment isnit you could have got them from a breakers cos you're seats were ripped or whatever. & i don't see how they'd know what optional extras the car came with. It's all arguable so they'd probably try it on but if you stand your ground they'll get bored eventually

With my policy they came out and took photos of the car when they installed my 'tracker'. As grim as it is I'm 17 and paying £800 a year on a 1L lupo in my own name fully legit, think i'll give them a ring about the seats and just say mine got ripped and need replacing.

yes, as long as they are optional extras from factory then go ahead. because they could have been on the car from the beginning. obviously aftermarkets are a NoNo.

co-op are cheap for a reason, My advice would be to leave them after your first year of driving for a company that does allow mods. :)

EDIT:

they will most probably say no which is a shame. :( they are pretty strict. interior wise id be shocked and dissapointed if they say no to that!
