si_leeds Posted October 1, 2011 Report Share Posted October 1, 2011 Our lasses polo has been sat since April with a ****ed gearbox, we've just had it replaced and obviously the battery was depleted so jumped it off and dis 40 miles, battery still flat.... Is this likley to be the alternator or just a goosed battery? have replaced battery and it seems okay but I don't want he breaking down if its the alternator lol Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
madmanncfc Posted October 1, 2011 Report Share Posted October 1, 2011 Have you got a multimeter?If you have check the battery voltage with the engine running it should be around 14 volts.Then turn on everything in the car and see if the voltage is the same.
