ItsFitzy
Hi,I currently race a DC2 integra type R. Its about 210bhp, weighs 900kg's, has a built gearbox (4.7FD & Close 3,4,5 gears) and J's Racing ECU & Coilovers.I am looking at the lupo on PH (http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3246305.htm) 1.8T ex ADAC Championship carWould it be quicker or slower that what I currently have? Has anybody raced lupo's before? I have driven one but it was a standard gti.Brian
Bikerz
Id imagine a fair bit quicker then your DC. Easy to find out, just ring and ask what times iits managed on which tracks. I have never driven a hardcore GTI though, but power to weight its far quicker then your DC
bobbo
With 350bhp i can only assume it will be a fair bit quicker than your teg, just a bit less stable!
Deadmetal
300bhp in a light, short wheel base car will be mental. Will be alot quicker than the DC in s straight line. Dont think it would be quicker on the twistys though.DCs have a rep of being one of the best handling fwd cars iirc.
ItsFitzy
Thanks for the replies guys, the main circuit in Ireland is Mondello (tight, twisty and unfortunately besides the top 3, honda dominated) The teg handles very well but I was hoping a well sorted lupo would eat it alive.... Cooper_GTI
The thing with that much power is that it's really gonna struggle to put the power down, even in a straight line.I'd imagine a Teg would outhandle it, due to the fact that it's fully independant. Not that you can't make a Lupo handle, but i think you'd struggle to get it on par with a Teg.
Bikerz
I think the simple answer is, the lupo would be far more fun! However the DC would be just as quick if not quicker round a track. How cool would you feel and how big would your smile be in a 400bhp lupo tho! Defcon5
What series do you race in - will the Lupo be eligible for your current class?

truCido
that ADAC car lives around the corner from me and I've seen it a few times now! Also says £4000 for without the engine? How is a 300bhp 1.8T engine worth £4000? Its not.....a standard Leon Cupra R engine has 225bhp standard with a map about 275bhp, not sure how much you could pick one up for? I'd imagine £1000 absolute tops!
