More losses, but better lubrication. I agree with Rich. Go slightly thicker on higher millage or tunned engines. My 1.8T runs 10W40 rather than the 0W30 VAG recomend.

my sdi is on 135k dont know what life its had but in the last year its done 12k and been driven very hard, my old man had a pug 305 d estate with 260000 on the clock

I hadnt noticed that yet (And wont now my fabia gone). The TDI off the road at min so that mount will be up with you in the next 2 weeks mate. (Tho I will want my GTI one doing too at somepoint)

My Lupo 3L has now done 399,544km, or a bit over 248k in miles.. On its original turbo and gearbox I might add :)

Now that's impressive! I'd love a 3L!

My gti is now on 157k, but not my daily anymore, so won't go up like it used to! My Up! had 7.7k in February when I bought it, now on 13.8k!
