Chris H
Bit of a basic question, what are the difficulties of putting a 1.4 tdi lump into a lupo gti 04 model,i have chance of a stunning lupo gti,but i like my diesels, but ive fallen in love with the lupo gti looks etc,im a reasonable diy mechanic and have access to full workshop tools etc,you guys on here are the experts though and i would be really appreciative of any help. scotty_82
Im not an expert but i am going to tell you to put the tools down and walk away from the car.If you want a derv go buy a derv , if you want a gti go buy a gti. DO NOT MIX THE TWO.
Silver!
Please don't spoil a stunning GTI.Buy one with high mileage and engine prob's and at least put the 1.9TDI in it.
Rich
I contemplated this so I've worked out pretty much what you'd have to do. Full loom through the car. Fuel tank.Wire in GTI headlights. You'd have to de-widetrack the front as TDI shafts are TDI specific and you'd lose the length on them.Basically a reshell with a couple of little complications, sounds a lot harder than it is. mini-man-dan
I would put a 1.9tdi in it. This has always interested me, and if mine ever goes pop it may be what I do! I would purchase a high mileage 5 speeder though, then keep the rest of the money to make the car a stunner.
