How to: Fix a bonnet release cable

Recommended Posts

I have done mine today both bits they are in 2 bits very easy to do front cable was £3.78 back was £3.90 also put new handle mount on inside that was £1.89 this is with discount as i work in the trade.

it seems it is the first half from the handle that gets kinked and goes floppy. thought i better do it before it goes for service on Saturday and before the Delars brake it.

To do it take grill out but pushing in the 2 tabs at the top of grill.

undo 2 10mm bolts that hold lock to front panel and the 30 torx that holds that as well. un-clip cable pull though front panel then un-clip the black plastic joiner and that's the front section

Rea section take handle of inside car unscrew phillips screw take kick trim off undo 2 screw for handle mechanism then pull cable though.

putting back is reverse

very easy!
