Hi,

Just got myself a low mileage SDi which I really like already .Gives me 60 mpg , a relaxing drive and puts a smile on my face...

I've checked it over but how do I get to the air filter??

I'm sure it needs one.

Cheers

Ian

It's not well signposted, no. You have to remove part of the underneath plastic of the bumper, on the driver's side -a few screws at the front of the wheel arch is all you need to undo to remove it. You can then reach the bottom of the Airfilter housing, which has several screws to remove (can't remember if they're triple/squaredriver head or not), some are easy to get to, some are not.

You will have to either put the car over a pit, or up on ramps to replace the Airfilter, it would be far too fiddly not to. K&N do a nice filter for the SDI, if you're looking for ones other than the stock VW.
