Boost?

was at college today, doing a motorsport course.

and we were talking about pistons and that, and how diesels use turbos and how they work.

any way, how much boost (psi) is the lupo TDI putting out standard, and what would happen if i adjusted the boost on the turbo, how much power gains would you be looking at?

just curious,

any help would be delightful, cheers

Yep easy, best bet is to go to euro, gsf etc and get some more top mounts ,20-30 quid spent now means no mucking about with spring clamps etc later . So much more easy.

You can do it on ibizas by adjusting the two locking nuts on the actuator up or down a few threads. However then the turbo's requested and actual boost values are all over the place, and people end up crying with blown turbos. No idea on the anatomy of the lupo's tdi one though so that information might be completely redundant

EDIT: fast typing fail

I wouldn't recommend fiddling with the actuator as they don't quite work in the same way on the TDI PD engines as they do on the 20v Turbos. Plus adding extra boost without extra fuel could potentially lose you power (Incorrect mixtures and all) and as the boost has already been amended on the remap, you could potentially be putting the turbo under more strain than it is built to take which will either A.) Kill it, B.) Cause it to run hot, increasing the intake temperatures
