gti conversions for dummies

Recommended Posts

8v mounts are sat a few cm set further back, they were on my mk4 polo and the engine bays are the same

They weren't on my 1.0 Lupo.

Direct fit for both the Polo GTI and Lupo GTI engine I fitted to it.

I'm looking to do this conversion on my 1.0 with a friend.

Apart from the items listed above, what other bits do I need? For example exhaust, cooling system, engine mounts

Can I use the pedal box out of the polo the engine is coming from??

Cheers for all your help :)

congrats for providing so much info,2 fast questions if i got that right if there is no abs on your car(1.4 engine akq code) then after the convert you wont have clocks lighten?
and second way isnt there a way to use cable throttle body and original sport pedals? As long as i know there are cabled throttle body for 1.4 sport. The sport and the gtis t.b have the same diameter right?

If you're doing away with heating, electric windows, Central locking, Powersteering and ABS, does this conversion become easier?

We're also fitting the polo GTI clocks/dash

we've just stripped an entire polo GTI and have a lupo 1L

if you just don't bother with certain things and just chuck the loom into the car with the polo clocks it is pretty easy, however the whole conversion is pretty easy
