you really do talk out of your ass dont you? lol

A cars BHP is claimed at the flywheel

At the Fly wheel Robins car produced 121bhp.

At the wheels it produced 84bhp.

Paddys car produced 90bhpo at the wheels.

They both have more than VW claimed.

Bikerz.

A cars BHP is claimed at the flywheel.

At the flywheel Robins car produced 121bhp which is 21bhp over standard.

This is really very good for a 1.4 16v and is proving further still the potential of the 1.4 16v in the Lupo Sport (same engine as Robin's car).

Fran, Superlupo, Robin...think they have all had about 120bhp ish from their relativelly standard 1.4's.

I read before that as a 'rough' guide there's usually 30% difference between power @ flywheel & wheels. This seems to work out for Robins Polo, and would also mean that Paddy's is shoving out like 128 bhp at the flywheel!

Bloody hell.

Edit: I'm sure this was in an old mag that was comparing high milage hot hatches (had a 205, Mk2 16v, Escort RST & R5T) to see the effects on power after long term usage. Pretty sure I'm not dreaming this up! smile.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

I remember the article saying a 205 GTI 1.9 should be running 90 BHP at the wheels, and when it's 128 bhp standard, then it works out.

Maybe the stats only work for ****ey old french cars biggrin.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

paddy you getting 90bhp @ the wheels don't suprise me

2 yrs ago we had a rolling road shoot out at another rolling road place and my car was putting out 96bhp at the wheels!!!!!!!!!!

and my girlfriends was putting out 103bhp @ the wheels!!!!!!!!!!!!

insane

so it just shows you that the vw engines give more power than they state and also all rolling roads vary ALOT!!

have a look at the following link for the bhp table

Hi men, pardon me for butting in here but is 6hp going to make any difference on the road ? I've seen on many other forums people getting cought up in RR arguments over every last hp. Mate with a LCR has an average of 20hp over my S3( both chipped,d/pipes,exhausts,etc). On the road, three car lengths over a mile. We all like modding our cars but I'd save my money. Jesus, am I sounding like an old geezer or wot ?

Regards, Chris.
