MrsB Lupo.. Been converted 8 years ago now I think.. 1.8t power.

Daily drive for my wife

Now running a development hybrid k03 turbo on it, so posting this for those interested..

Originally built for me my JBS, and modded by me ever since.

started life as 1.0 model - cars been in family from new

3" turbo back exhaust made by me (Badger5) and full 3" intake to turbo (k04 hybrid inside a k03 wrapper)

550cc injectors, charge cooler (which needs upgrade)

Peloquin atb diff..

This is in prep for its new hybrid k03/4 turbo.. which is >300bhp spec turbo packaged into a k03 fitment, bolt on. Hybrid is fitted, but its old exhaust was never going to be adequate for its new flow potential.. Same turbo internals on a local S3, makes 338bhp/307lbft from 20-22psi boost.

okies.. 3 into Lupo does indeed GO

3" TIP - check

3" Downpipe - check

3" Full Bore exhaust - check

Comparison to its previous so called 2.5" system (which was 2" internally)

And how it looks from the normal view of the car.. What 3" exhaust??

couple of engine pics of its current install. its a mixed bag of pipes as it was originally done, which I will change for something a bit more Badger5 when I get time..

"compact" installation - lol

Engine

1.9 TDI PD AXR

Race injectors

GT2260V turbo

Large FMIC

2,5" exhaust from turbo with only one silencer (simons)

Stonger bearings

etc.

Transmission

Quaiffe LSD

Stonger custom drive shafts

Longer 5-gear transmission

Suspension

Seat Ibiza 6L fusee's

ERS springs 80kg front/50kg rear

Al black powerflex rubbers

Interior

Completely emptyed

Corbeau seats

Cobra 4-point belts

Result

270 hp / 360 lbft

+- 0-112 mph in 13sec

CRW_4364.jpg

The car also have been on 320 HP / 384 lbft but that did brake down the gearbox.

The engine can handle it with no probs, so if I mount a 6-gear transmission I can even put out more HP.

60-215 km/h (35-135 mph) (135 mph is topspeed with the old gearbox. Right now with the new gearbox it is doing 174 mph)

If you dare...

This is theoretically when it will go in to the rev limiter..

As there is 360 lbft (limited to save the gearbox) all the way up to 5700 revs, I think it will do.. But I don't know if I dare..

This was done by PSI tuning, for a good conversion that is done for you I wouldn't expect much change from £9K

Right, after looking through all the 1.8t conversions.. i have a question

One a few of the cars, some have put a front engine mount..

while some dont...

Any reason behind this?

I did mine the same way it was mounted in the cupra.

The front mount would add more stability to the engine. probs not a bad idea!

could someone tell me how much it would cost me to put a 1.8t in my lupo and where i could get it done?

Hi,

noticed you have only made 2 posts so must be new to the forum.

Please try and take not of the search bar as I cant even count how many times this question must have been asked.

prices will vary to whether you will do it yourself or if you are going to get eveything done by the company.

rough idea for you...

DIY - 4K ish

Company between 7-10K

the company will obviously depend on where you live.
