pc running very hot

Recommended Posts

righto guys, yesterday the air temp was sitting at 25oC and i noticed the fan on my computer was going full tilt and i was only on the internet. after digging in the bios i found that the the motherboard was at 47oC, CPU was up at 67oC and my graphics card up at 90oC!!! so i took the side pannel off the computer and the temp outside is only 18oC, and ive been using it again today and after 20mins the graphics card is up at 82oC. still to check the CPU temp and mboard temp so far. the cooling fans are spinning so not to sure whats going on

10 points to matt! took my pc outside with an air duster, cleaned out the PSU, case fan, processor fan, took out the graphics card from the pc and inside the copper cooling fins was packed with dust, cleaned it all out, rebuild it and its been on for an hour and the graphics card has fallen from 89/90oC to a steady 65oC

edit** how rude of me, cheers guys :D :D

Edited by one litre wonder ;)

Even if it was baked in dust, i don't think the temperatures should be that high.....

I do ;)

I always have the same problem with dust, I have a massive intake on the front and the PC is on the floor so picks it all up from that.

My CPU used to run hot untill i watercooled it and now just have to keep an eye on the graphics

Glad its sorted :)
