MrNice
Just got this done at National Tyres which I think is a bargain. They use Castrol Edge oil aswell. Castrol Edge usually costs £45 by itself!http://www.national.co.uk/oil-vehicle-search.aspx
dj-jay
thats not bad at all, considering the oil is 44 quid in halfords alone for a 4ltr bottle,,,,
Mike_M
I get the VW Quantum 5L oil for about £12 and a filter for about £4 From VW TPS

Mike_M
Used to work at the VW HQ and a dealer so manage to get trade plus an additional discount off Get a similar thing with Halfords too.You can still get the VW parts quite cheap going to you local TPS if they play ball and allow you to buy stuff with not being trade. Defcon5
I would consider the Castrol stuff to be far superior to any rebranded stuff.
Mike_M
Quantum oil is cheap due to the vast quantities they can sell and cant imagine it being substandard..........I have not had any problem with it to be honest. @ Defcon5: We always have this banter Edited February 26, 2010 by Mike_M
Defcon5
I know! Go on then...Why dont VW use Quantum oil when they service your car? They use Castrol oils! I cant see VW selling more oil than Castrol, especially when they dont use it themselves
Mike_M
Quantum is made by Castrol Edited February 26, 2010 by Mike_M
MrNice
I thought it was a good price anyway.
Defcon5
I thought it was a good price anyway. It is a fantastic price, unfortunatly National use trained monkeys for staff, and their filters are probably made of cheese. I would take my own VW filter and insist on watching them do the workQuantum is made by CastrolSource?
Mike_M
Thats is what I was told by a friend at VW HQ UK that I used to work with.
lupolouie
if your looking for cheeper oil changes i work at kwik fit they bang them out for £29.95.Thats oil and filter using mobil oil aswel well and there more like a mini service because we check all the tyres, lights , top up screen wash etc.
heartagram
Tbh for the amount of time and effort it takes to do an oil change might as well do it yourself. Quicker than leaving your car with someone and having to go back and collect it.I use TPS quite often. Good prices and they are only around the corner from me so makes sense. A lot of time they are cheaper than the likes of GSF and ECP.
