Guest `sps-si`
i would aslo suggest some work be done on the fueling side.now as of yet i have not tried fitting the bosch m/s unit in matts tank but a good way to do this fuel upgrade would be to run say a sport intank pump to a swirl pot then a bosch m/s unit to regulator on the rail.love the idea of throttle bodies i have been toying with the idea for the next project... syncro turbo throttle bodied corrado vr6!!!! Tigz™
QUOTE(`sps-si`)I have been toying with the idea for the next project... syncro turbo throttle bodied corrado vr6!!!!Holy crap  Is that duable! lolTell me more about this swirl pot idea Si.Whats involved? Guest `sps-si`
oh its `do-able` alright! style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="twisted.gif" /> syncro off a jetta, turbo kit from the us throttle bodies from jenvie lots of jiggery pokery and fabrication but where there's a will there's a way  swirl pot....what you have is you intank fuel pump feeding an alloy tank located usally in the engine bay. these are avaliable from the likes of `spec-r` and forge m/s. from this you then have a motorsoprt fuel pump pulling the fuel from the swirl tank and suppling the rail/regulator. this is a nice way to do it as the factory pump will easily have enough steam to keep the swirl pot full. then you have the motorsport unit right where its needed to supply the uprated flow and presure required for a well fiddled engine. obviously this is combined with an adjustable regulator for control.i have not yet looed in matts tank to see if the bosch pump can be made to fit but if it will not then i will be running a swirl pot set up.
Tigz™
Well keep me informed how you get on, and you can tell me about it when I come down once Ive finished paying you.I cant wait to see Matts car.Its gonna be so cool.Matts was the first modded Lupo I ever saw, before finding the Club one google afternoon. It was a small pic in a non VW mag.Was wicked. And still after all my time in the Club, I have never seen it in the flesh.Im hoping the car is finished before I come for engine, so I can see it how it desirves to be.Are you the first non big company to build 1.8t for someone as a business venture? The guy who built Venoms, did it as a favour in his spare time.Ians Loop cup winner was built by an expencive big business.Glad to see the smaller workshops put there are utilising the 1.8t for us.Nice to see a Lupo loving company also. Funky Diver
I take it nitrous is out of the question??
Tigz™
No not really. If I manage to do this conversion, then I will try a nitros progressive kit, for use on sprint days.150hp will be enough for road use, but an extra 75hp on a Sunday will be very tastey.Im not a Nitros hater when used right. Fyggy
I began reading this thread, but by page 2 it was all a little bit too over my head unfortunately, so I skimmed the rest... anyway, I do wish I knew what all these bits are you talk about and how an engine works.. one day!So I'll just say, it sounds like a top idea Andi and I hope it all works out. Whats the insurance difference going to be? And I really think you should have it stealth - leave it badged (or `re-badge`) as the 1.0E it is... stealth rules!!! style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />
Scottish_Sport_16V
No to NOS I want constant power, looked into this allot over the last 2 days and looks allot eayr more than i ever thought. Saw some good stuff on ebay today and spoke to some mates and i really think this is achievble if i work my student as off during the summer time i could have this done i rekon i can have this done for september next year , but thats being optimistic. So si tigz the rest of u lot what power r we looking at when finnished Tb set up,cams ,manifold, exhaust and a good MAP?
Dogwood
If everyhing is right ie. induction length, exhaust lengths, proper head job, snorty cams etc, you should see 160bhp.
chris260
That's impressive from a 1.4!! I hope it all goes well. I remember i had the intenition of running my mk1 as a daily driver, lasted about 4 months!!!What was your polo putting out dogwood? You old golf wasn't green by any chance was it?
Dogwood
Polo was making 204bhp@8400rpm. I'm on with a few things that should find another `10-15bhp` hopefully. Could make more peak power with bigger cams and more revs, but need some mid range for slower coreners on hillclimbs. My old Golf was green with anthracite ATS cups. Its in the Manchester area now. Dogwood
It's a 1.6 Tigz. A 1.4 at the same spec would give `185-190ish`. I'll try and sort some pics out.
