theo_scene
Ive just bought a 2003 seat arosa with around 27000 miles on the clock, it had its mot done 2 days ago and it passed fine, i picked the car up yesterday and everything worked okay, but today the brakes are really not working properly, the pedal has become really hard/spongy and to slow down you have to really press it hard and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt, it varies and its pretty dangerous, ive read somewhere its called brake fade where the brake fluid needs changing or something because there is moisture in it, maybe this has happened in the time that its just been parked at the garage for a while, any ideas ?, it must be something small because its just had its mot done.any help appreciated. Thanks, Theo
mr_pink_78
Get the fluid changed - you may have boiled it. But it sounds like the brake pump might be fubar.Edit : It's not brake fade unless you've been doing a few mega fast to zero stops in a row. If it happens even when the brakes are cool then that isn't it. If you've been doing fast driving on the brakes a lot you may have boiled the fluid, then it's no good anymore. gub
i would check the brake lines for leaks as well get a mate to press on brakes and have a look under back of all wheels and lines to make sure no fluid is leaking out.and air has got in. jcarroll
They look like huge, maybe its just the pic. I preffer smaller fuller face wheels to hide the incy wincy discs and drums! Its not like you need to get loads of air into them
pro3mark
I was going to say, that won't improve braking efficiency...
