Anyone know a good place to get undercar lights that isnt too expensive?

i want PURPLE LED lights, and i cant find anywhere that sells them - loads of blue, red led etc but no purple (only neon), or its about £500 plus fitting :?

Also i'm looking for a good set of purple interior lights - either LED or neon dont mind which, under £20 if its possible tongue.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

Any suggestions?

Under car lighting can look ok, BUT only if your car is so low you cant get a rizzla underneth.

I had 2x 12" blue nions under the dash and in my opinion it looked greta, took them out again, but now the dark nights are back Ive been thinking of `re-fitting` them.

If you get the same colour as your dash lights it CAN look really cool, although others will think its tacky as of course it isnt your car is it YOUR car is it.. wink.gif border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" />

Take a look on ebay for computer neons... a hell of a lot cheaper.

I've heard you can replace the bulbs behind the dash? if you can, is it pretty easy, cos i hate mine atm - theyre a kinda dirty orange

I dunno mate.

You can get blue LEDs but there *****, not even worth wasteing the cash.

Only winding you up bout the lights.. if you like the look of them then go for it, I was talking to a guy in Sheffield who had designed a under car LED system that cost less than £20 to make, that were soooo much brighter than neons.

The thing is mate, its been done so many times its looking tired, 2 fast 2 furious even looked dated when they had neons... again...

You wanna try ebuyer for Cold Cathodes. The cold cathodes on ebay are just ones bought from here and sold at a profit. I've got red ones from here and they aint bad considering they only cost £3 for a pack of 2, inc delivery.

Infact here's some purple ones...

Cheap and easy to fit. Come with a built in switch that can be nicely installed in the slots below the heater dials! Looks even better if you have alluminium chequerplate flooring in ur footwells!!

you sure, says on your website you plan to Spray Paint/cover various bits inside - door handles, dashboard, stearing wheel (ahhh, don't do it)

did you get your lock sorted?

nope taking it in 2moz, hopefully get it fixed on fri or early next week.

you'd want 2 colour the inside if you had my car - its all kinda dirty grey and chewed (the woman had it before me had a dog, and it got broken into and the radio nicked so its a bit battered). Ok maybe not the best car to buy, but i like the looks smile.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

  • 3 weeks later...

If you want an underbody neon kit look for the shop autoincorp they have a full under set for £45 in red, blue, green and PURPLE. the delivery is a £20 though but it does come straight out of the factory in singapore so its not to Bad.

as for interior lights the foot wells look great when u light them up . I put in two 12" neon bars and a reader light in the same colour hooked it up to a sound controller and heypressto disco in my car, Saturday night fever style. great for those dark commuting evenings.

cool i'll have a look for them.

I've only lit up the passenger footwell so far, but fun as `sound-reactive` lights are I want mine static tongue.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" /> I'd get distracted by them lol

Built your own SBL system (Super BRight LEDs), a pack of ten can be had for less than a quid, wire it yourself (daisy chain as many as to get 12v summary voltage, and connect daisy chains in parallel) since cars run on 12v DC and presto smile.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />. If I am ever to do a `x-mas` tree jobbie on my car I'll go for SBLs (BTW, there's new kind of LEDs on the market, much brighter than the best you can get now - sadly my memory is very good but short.... so can't help ya with any contacts atm...)

Cars run on 13.8v DC, so bear that in mind when doing the maths, or you could end up with a bunch of fried LEDs if you're running them at the top end of their tolerance.

I think the Luxeon 5 watt LED is the brightest you can get at the moment - at 120 lumens, you could almost use them as headlights! laugh.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
