CasperGTI
This can sometimes be the cause of having a stiff 1st gear other than a knackered box. Tools Needed: Long 4mm Allen key (with 90 degree end)Put the gearbox in to neutral, Go in to the engine bay and find the gearbox selector. Secure the locking mechanism on gear selector cable and gate selector cable by pulling forwards in direction of arrow -1- onto stop and then turn to left in direction of arrow -2- to lock. You then need to set the selector, Set selector shaft as follows: Press selector shaft down to stop in direction of arrow 1 on the picture,Slowly release the shaft up slightly while turning angled rod -A- carefully 90° in direction of arrow -2- until it can be felt to engage. The selector should no longer move when correctly lockedThen go in to the car and take the gaiter, guide the 4mm allen key through the two holes, one in the casting and one in the stick so that they are locked and align. Now turn locking mechanism on gear selector cable and gate selector cable to right onto stop (direction of arrow). The spring presses the locking mechanism into normal positionNow turn right-angled piece -A- back to original position (direction of arrow) Angled rod -A- must point upwards vertically or you will destroy the box!Remove the allen key from the locking on the gaiter. Check all your gears go in smoothly, if they dont, try and repeat the process.** ALL USER GUIDES ARE INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY OF THE AUTHOR, NOT CLUB LUPO ** Edited October 10, 2010 by nfbr
