Tigz™
Nar I was sat on my ass, looking up at the arches.Ive got to (possably) raise it as the tyres are starting to rub now its settleing.Gonna take the liners out and roll the arches first though, I can always lift it a little higher if it still happends.Got over some real sized speed bumps tonight, and that was the biggest worry. Tigz™
Thanks Tim. style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> Max not yet, I have had trouble finding someone to do the job.I dont want to take it to VW for obvious reasons, even though they only charge £60 :? The only other place that does it is a place 10 miles away, that shuts at 5:30pm and I dont till 7pm.My mates an ex tyre man, and knew bad things bout this place, so Im stuck.Any ideas?chris260 I have been waiting for 12 months to have the cash for coilovers. How can you have them in the Kitchen for a month without fitting them? I had to catch a train to London to stop myself fitting them myself saturday lunch when they came! lmao
twisty b-road
I'd waited 10days before getting the tracking done, did about 400 miles in that timeimo If you do it today, drive around a bit, by tomorrow it'll have settled a bit and need doing again
chris260
lol! The pleasures of modifying 3 cars at once!! DanGTI
good point about waiting for them to settle before getting the camber done...how come its so hard getting someone to do that tho? didnt think it was that hard a job
Tigz™
Its the equipment you need, its not hard you could do it yourself if you have a gauge.
DanGTI
so the angle of camber should be different depending on how much youve lowered it? or are they always meant to be set at a certain angle no matter what? (just finding out for when I finally get coils on)
Snoopy
Certain angle no matter what. Although I think you *might* run out of adjustment range if you go too low or too high.
Tigz™
Yes your right snoop. Ross and Will both said I need one degree negitive camber and one degree negitive tow.
DanGTI
i had the camber done on my arosa, it was spot on and the tires still work out on the inside slightly more than the rest. confused.com
Tigz™
Its possable (and this is the reason Im waiting a week for a booking with a respected vw bodyshop in Retford.) that some places may charge you for the camber ajusted but not do it.My mate at work worked for ATS for a number of years, and has seen it all.
