My Black 2002 Lupo GTI... Bought as standard. Has been looking on and off for a while for one, idealy a silver one. never saved for long enough to buy one. MFD Now fitted... Thanks Flying Custard who delivered it to my door!

It's a MFD G, latest version, has a 2007 maps disc.

Removing the Gamma and CD changer

The little helper, my cat Felix.

In, and sort of working, still no sat-nav, as the aerial need fitting correctly.

DSCN2762.jpg

I have now found out that I need a plug and play lead to make the Gala function work, this is needed to carry a speed sensor to the satvav function. The MFD is a direct fit, the DIN cage is apparently smaller on a Lupo, I had no issues.

Rear spoiler repainted and fitted with new brake light.

DSCN2049.jpg

I stripped this back to remove all the paint, then had it painted at work.

Bought a new light from VW, with a new connector block.. As the old one had broken pins stuck inside it. I also replaced the spacers for the spoiler, and fitted new bolts.

It passed the MOT, but needs a new OS head lamp, as the unit has a crack and wont adjust correctly.

Other parts fitted and work done.....

New screws for the under tray so it could be fitted correctly.

New NS wing repeater.. Old one was cracked.

Door check strap pins changed, to take out the wear, which caused the OS one to fail in the past.

Full interior vallet.

where can i find an mfd? r they expensive?

By chance, one came up on here, the day I decided I wanted one.

eBay is your best bet.. I paid £290 for it, but it came with GPS antena, maps disc and loads of instruction manuals. By the way, they don't play CD's.

Is it just satnav and cd changer controller then? Does it do anything else?

Yep.. It's sat nav and cd changer control, radio..... I'm adding a Dension iPod link also. You can also add tv tuner and dvd player B)B)

love the head unit! whats it from? Very OEM!

I think they were fitted in high end Bora's, Passat's and Sharrans... Upto 2004/5.
