Can you update us when you hear please Defcon 5? Someone's used touch up paint on the rust on my roof - the trader i bought it from I suspect - which VW's expert muttered about but I think if I can quote a couple of successful claims ( and already have the Murry VWJames' info thanks ) at him I might get somewhere and so may some other sufferers.

cheers

Gary

Went in today, pictures taken, and being sent to wherever they send them.

I have 3 different rust spots, the body shop guy said they would probably do the little ones, but they may say the big one has been left too long, and I should have brought it in sooner, to which my response will be why wasnt it brought to my atttention when it was serviced by VW last year.

Good response though mate, stick to your guns and demand they do the whole lot and they are bound to give in eventually!!!! :)

Cheers, James.

they wont cover me under warranty cause one of the previous owners resprayed the car :(

They'll use anything to wriggle out of it, personally I wouldn't take my car to them to get it painted regardless.

Seen too many shoddy jobs come out of 'approved' dealer bodyshops.

To get the roof painted from a decent place isn't going to break the bank - £140-180.
