just just a word of warning 100% get the roof welded. i have seen it on 3 cars where it has cracked and mine was one of them just i used panel glue to stick a metal square on the inside and then filled from the top as it was only around 0.5 - 1mm deep. the roof being the main part to get the sun it will take a lot of heat and metal and filler heat up differently so one will move with the heat more than the other and it will crack.

I had my boot badge on the grille same as that GTI i think that works

your car mate do what you want

have a rough idea what you want it to look like .. (which you clearly do)

research all mods, apintshop and custom fab work

set a budget

set a deadline

lush but looks poor from the back; in comparison to the front !

10"s just dont work on Lupos IMO

As you are doing most of the work yourself make sure you use a bit of logic in the way you work.

mechanical stuff first.. engine, chassis, gearbox suspension etc.

at least then you can move it about if it needs to be, drive it and make as much of a mess as you like in it.

all very well have a good looking car with new paint but if it doesn't move its useless

even if its covered in primer and has no interior as long as it is mechanically alright you can

still drive about to collect those all important parts and make it easier to get the car to specialist for paint etc.

sit down make a list of what you want

then put them in logical order and stick to it

Mate we're not slating your work, youre putting loads of time and effort in and hats off to you. Only thing is things like aerial need welding rather than fibreglassing because 1) it will sink, 2) it will leak.

Will look awesome in the short term but then look sh*t in a while when it all starts to go wrong. You need to cut the recess out, then plastic weld a piece in flush with the hole. Then you can use the flexible filler to skim it over and smooth it out.

People want to see this done and done to a cool standard so thats why everyone is chipping in! B)

hmm...

DSC00590.jpg

i also think it doesn't make much sense. it the materials u use will all sink and crack after a time... from the german lupo board i know, most users use tin for body work or original plastics from a second bumber (melted with a soldering gun) for cleaning the bumpers.

Timmendorf has covered it nicely

if you cant get a plastic welder ..a soldering iron with a spooned tip will be fine

you can buy little blow torches and steel rod in most plumbing places for the bonnet recess aireal etc.
