Tada's GReeeeN Lupo GTI - Last update 1.11.2014

Recommended Posts

Wish to answer to a few Qs.

How was it? Did you do ok?

Will look forward to seein some vids......

Good luck for this saturday!

I did pretty good, although I feel the -2.5 of camber was a bit too much.

It hurt braking performance and made it harder to utilize the full width of the track.

May consider decreasing it to -2.0

Camp 2 is amazing, which obd2 port is it plugged into? The one in the ashtray?

We moved the OBD2 port over to the fusebox.

what size is the in dash...

Just a regular sized 2-DIN navi.

Car is being fitted with a modified Raceland manifold, sport cat, and one-off catback as we speak.

Will post pics and drive-by videos next week.

Next up is a 4-point harness and fire extinguisher for the Golf Cup on 8/31.

After that possibly cams, not sure yet.

Well guys, I finished second in the Golf Cup.

My camera mount broke the day before so I couldn't get the onboard video.

There's another race in November, so I'll get post it up then.

In the meantime here's a pic of the Lupo next to my R32.

And here's a pic of me going too deep into the apex :D

congats on the second place. How competitive were you vs the 1st place car. Do you think with the current spec you have a good chance for the win?

Nice to see a Lupo took the Golf cup by storm!

The Gti is really quite impressive, and everything on it looks to be of a high standard B)

It was a 10 lap race, and the 1st place car was a Golf III GTI (2.0L 16valve)

In the qualifying round, he recorded a 1'12.120 and I recorded a 1'12.840.

On average, he is about 0.5 to 0.8 seconds faster than me on this particular course.

That translates to about 5 to 8 seconds on a 10 lap race.

Needless to say, he was long gone by the time I was running my final lap.

His car is fully gutted, and equipped with everything I have (coilovers, intake, exhaust, etc etc, the whole package) PLUS cams and LSD.

I'm really not that interested in cams, but I would love to get a differential.

Here is the 1st place car for reference.

If you have any suggestions on how to make this car quicker, I'm all ears.

Like you say, I reckon an LSD would make a noticeable difference.

What about a lightened fly wheel aswell??

The problem seems to be that no one makes a LSD for this 02T tranny.

A LWFW would be great, but it is alot of labor and I certainly do not enjoy gear chatter.
