That temp reader is awesome, where does it get the figures from?

It gets all the readings from the OBDII port.

Water temperature, Oil temperature, Oil pressure, Battery Voltage, Engine speed, A/F ratio, Gas Mileage etc etc

I was a little skeptical about the OBDII readings so I got optional Water and Oil temp sensors and plugged them

directly into their respective locations (right before radiator and oil pan plug) However, the readings were only

off by 2-3 degrees Celsius.

Good one mate...!

Tell me a thing...!Why did you put the catch tank pipe on the CDA curve...?Isn't better a little BMC filter...?

D.

Maybe something to do with keeping the vacuum?

For me is not god...!

When I fitted the CDA I put a little filter directly from the engine pipe, the one that came from down...!

Instead installing the catch tank I think that this filter should be fitted on the upper part of the tank without fit the pipe to the curve...!

Hope you'll understand what I mean...!

Ry

Both from a vendor in Japan. Sure you can find one local.

What is benificial about that then? What does ut actually do?

You've got to realize why Volkswagen designed this engine with a blow-by valve in the first place.

Blow-by gas is left-over gasoline. It corrodes engine oil and therefore deteriotes engine performance and efficiency.

Wouldn't you want that out of the crankcase, back into the cylinders, fully combusted, and out through the exhaust?

If you don't have vacuum you might as well leave the engine as is, without a catch tank.

Defcon5,

If you were asking what a catch tank does, it collect the corroded oil and moisture within the crankcase.

Only the blow-by gas (that causes carbon and sludge build-up) returns into the intake.

very nice... now i understand what one of those does.

How hard was it to put a hole into the bend? and what did you use to plug it with? Just the pipe itself?

It wasn't hard at all.

We first measured the inner diameter of the catch tank tube, and made an aluminum tube with a flat base.

We then cut a hole in the silicone hose, and pushed the aluminum tube from the inside of the silicon hose.(the base has a bigger OD, so it doesn't pull out)

Finally plugged the catch tank tube, and applied some clear silicone epoxy.

Revved it to 6500RPM with no sign of intake leak.
