So I finally got a free sunday to do a bit on the Lupo, I decided to weld on the repair bumper mount section I salvaged from the donor.

As always, pictures say it better :)

It has been so long since I last worked on the Lupo that I now have a resident mouse!

And I picked these up to solve my want for a nice pair of front seats :D

Funk me. When your finished you can take the week off and come and help me. Good work mate.

A week off would be nice and a trip to Scotland would be good too, just the speed this is going it would be a long time till I get to come up there!

That is the most I have ever seen a Lupo stripped.

Too job!

One of my new Top 5 favorite threads!

Cheers dude, there's more to come out too! Glad to be in your top 5 :) I have a few tricks up my sleeve that I know you in-particular will like ;)

Yep I always keep my open for this thread!

Some very good progress has been made....

Keep us updated!

Don't you worry, I will and the updates should be more regular from now on, Im trying to make a big push to get it done and there's a long way to go....

New hinges fitted to give that 'new car door feel'

I am going for the smooth look so am having a hidden arial and welded up the roof hole.

This is the patch held in place with masking tape from the inside:

And welded on ready for a skim of filler to blend it in:

View from the inside:

The passenger door is the original 1.4 s one which had manual wing mirrors. I am fitting the electric ones from the Tdi so I had to modify the door so the mirror will fit. This is the door stripped down:

And this is the modification I had to make:

The pinky stuff is rust preventive paint covering the bits I cut to make the square recess.

And a couple of pictures of the little beasty with out it's doors on! (see Tigz, there is more to strip off it!)

edit: just noticed you can see the speaker mounts I welded in from the other body so I can fit rear speakers in the last two pictures.

Thats all for now, next update next week girls and boys ;)

So much for next week eh?

Right been busy getting rid of the donor shell, had to strip off all the fuel lines, fuel cooler, fuel tank, rear axle, engine out etc.

This has now all been fitted to the 1.4s shell. I fitted the rear axle as I wasnt sure if there were any differences between the two but also the bushes are in better condition and the rear Koni shocks were fitted to it so it was just as easy to swap the lot in one go!

Also have got the gear shifter fitted ready for the Tdi cable change gearbox:

And finally, I have started rubbing it down ready for painting the shell. Both doors have been stripped down ready for the paint prep too.

Looking good, and yeah, that was a few weeks late! :P

I know :( I've had absolutely no spare time to get working on it lately so Im trying real hard now to make free days here and there to get it done.

I just need to get the paint work done and then it will move on a lot quicker! The engine loom is in the car now too but as the bay has been painted Im not showing pictures of that yet as I want to show the colour when its on the shell!

nice bit of progression there.

Looks a good space to work in.

Cheers dude, not as much as I'd like though!

The workshop is good yes, loads of space and only £25 a month :P
