J.P
Hello All! This is my topic on my 2000 VW Lupo S 1.7 SDi. I bought it on 22nd December 2007 (Shamefully only got round to cleaning it today). Its got 85,000 Miles, FVWSH, Electric windows, Electric Sunroof, S Opening rear windows, PAS, and not much else!I've bought this to use as my Daily driver after i turn 17 in September, hoping it'll be reliable and as easy on fuel as everyone says the SDi's are. It was traded in where my brother and dad work (i work there on the Holidays in VW Parts) so i snapped it up for £800 which doesn't seem a bad price! Hadn't seen many Lupo's for sale in N.I never mind and SDi and it was an SDi i wanted because of the MPG figures i've been told and the fact i can fit 13's on it.Of course i couldn't keep it standard though! Going low with some Coilovers and some wide 13's, people have squeezed 9's on the back? It'll require arch work but that won't worry me too much. Also it's got its fair share of rough parts. The drivers wing is dented, the back bumper has had a bump and needs painted, along with the P/S rear arch which has had the worst Isopon treatment Ive seen in my life! Lots of other small carp ark esque marks all over so lots of touching up will be required so Ive been considering a colour change, something intresting like Matt orange or something, who knows, might go matt yellow or just the original yellow! I'll see where time takes me.I spent last weekend cleaning inside, it was previously owned by an old woman who must have had faaaar to many cats. Lots of hoovering, hot soapy water and srubbing later the interior was in better shape. Hoping to borrow the valeting machine from work soon to do the seats and headlining which are badly stained. Other than that all it needs inside is a drivers side floor matt. Also the sunroof won't open, or the P/S window!Enough talking, heres some pictures! Now for the not-so-nice parts!Hope to keep the updates regular, the target is to have the Coilovers, wheels and Bodywork sorted by September!Jason. J.P
UpdateLupo is now starting to take shape. While waiting for the bigger things to arrive i took off the side strips, rear wiper and rear badges. Next I removed the headlights, put them in the oven, split them glass and body then tinted part of the reflector. Similar to a GTI.Next, I had to do something about the arch/wheel clearance issue...Some cheapy cheap Ta Technix (or something) Coilovers...The front can still go down a bit but no point as it will have to go back up for MOT.No rear adjusters for me!Lights and badgeThen my wellers were next: 13x8 ET -10 (yes minus) on the front, and 13x10 ET +18 (need a 5mm spacer to clear the beam so will be +13)Wrapped in 175/50 R13 Continental ContiSports on the front and 195/45 R13 on the rear.Going to let the tyres sit and bead for a week, maby two. next job is to get the arches pulled and rolled. Then the two sides and rear bumper painted and it should see me satisfied for while. Should all be done for Castlewellan!

J.P
Thanks for the tip on the switch!Have the wheels on now...wil post pics in the morning! Surprisingly not too much rolling required!
heartagram
What offsets are they? I'd imagine they'd be quite wild!Personally I think 10s would be to wide for a Lupo, unless you berg cup style it. But different strokes for different folks and all that! J.P
Bit of an update! Its finished! (At least i hope so!)Where I left off we were unsure if it would be back from paint in time! The painter sent for the paint on the wednesday, painted on thursday and finished it on friday morning and we had it home at 5.30 that evening! WIN! Everything except bootlid and roof for £350! yea £350! And i can't fault it, not an imperfection on it! Rollin' on polo sport somethings....Dean shampoo'd the seats while i started the shimmy.after...Raised it up again, now working well into the night! And a wash under moonlight!12o'clock kebabs then some wax and loaded up with some sitting equipment and anything else, in bed for 3am!Mmmmm. 8) After much subframe rubbing we arrived (coilovers settle in alot more than expected!)'Straight up ballin' yo!'Very pleased! Great response from lots of people at the show! Found some water on the way home..Couple of small things to do. such as the headlining, but thats probably as far as i want to take it. Has to be a daily come september when its licence time!Serviced it in work this week too.Ohh yea...'GTI NI Castlewellan - Best Lupo' :shock:Thanks for looking Edited July 11, 2008 by J.P
