Well i sold my Saxo VTR on Sunday and went to pick this up on Monday afternoon from Manchester.

I was a bit sad to see the Sax go even if it was a French tin box, but as soon as i got in the GTI i knew i had made the right decision. The extra 8 Valves and 25BHP that this has over the saxo really sets it apart. I can now put my foot down on the motorway and have some power to overtake.

The car is in really great condition. It has loads of receipts and has had the cambelt done, the alternator changed and has FSH from VW and a VW specialist.

Other well known faults like the rear brake light have also been sorted.

Plans for it are:

- Fit a new check strap on the door @ £15 from the stealers.

- Fit a new fuel cap as the original's rubber strap has perished (you have to buy the whole lot @£36 :angry2: )

- Make sure that everything that should be there is, with regards to the puncture repair kit.

- Install my Parrot Bluetooth Kit.

- Get my Personalised Number Plates on.

- Change the Key to a VW Flip Key.

And finally

-Get a Double DIN Doovde Player.

I hope you all like it! :D

Silver they are really rare,

Get those tailpipes polished.

Nice choice, good luck with it.

I know mate but when you buy second hand cars that are rare as hens teeth the colour doesnt really come into it lol.

What does everyone reccommend for polishing the exhaust? Also does anyone know of a VAG specialist in Coventry?

Wont be doing much with it, gonna try and keep this car standard. Bonnet Bra maybe!

Very nice :shades:

What spec has it got? AC etc?

Just standard spec, no AC or anything unfortunately!

You might find you're better of with the oem NGK plugs rather than the bosch ones. The Bosch ones have a bad reputation on here for not only running poorly but the leads tend to pop off the top of the plug.

Vtr's have long ratio gearbox's. If you had fitted the 1.3 rallye gearbox it would have had quick acceleration. but i agree with you that they are tin box's cause i have a rallye and i think the lupo is a better looking car.

Good old motaquip ;)

Are you doing the servicing yourself?

Yes i will be doing, i did all the servicing on my last car. Im a little bit worried about all the plastic the Loop has stopping me getting at its insides.

I was given them for free at work. I thought that Volkswagen would have put Bosch plugs in as standard.
