Cruise control on 1.4 TDI's

Recommended Posts

Yeah, have a good read through, it took me a while to gather what i needed to do.

Also search for mrbuscuits thread, if there isnt a link from this one.

Mine is now powered from the heated rear window switch, with a spare switch acting as my set button. I just need a stalk and wire it in now!

As said above, all the information is in here and also in the original thread by Mr. Biscuit.

There was a VAG-COM thread recently too (strangely, it comes up when you search for vag-com). You will find that the free version is fine for activating cruise control.

I'm not getting at you personally, and I have nothing against new people, (we were all new here once!) - just remember, this forum has been here for years, with many different members, so the chances are your noob questions have all been asked before :)

And I will be posting a How-To thread soon, hopefully we can get it put in the Archive/Information bit of the forum B)

Connecting the harness to the switch

And now the serious things will begin for info the harness has 4 wire

So t4/1 >black/blue
 T4/2>Light blue
 T4/3>Red
T4/4> 2 wire put on the same terminal so a white and a black/yellow

Now everything must be connected to the computer
4F8E4F39-4B4B-4D31-9F52-0E7A516B28A5.jpeg.d428d2f7d952c342ce9461c0f5997fe3.jpeg
For us what interests us is the T81 plug it is the C on the top photo
CCB68CA7-619D-409F-A2D7-4EDDD7F44F91.jpeg.5974569cb6450db27da03347e0f112ef.jpeg

I pass you the stripping of the T81 mdrrrr (I zapped the photos: joker:)
So take the part of the plug that goes to T43 and connect the black / yellow wire of t4/4 to T43/14
Be careful because the T43 does not start at 1 but at 6

Then take the second part of the T81 the one that goes from 44 to 81

So T4/3>red on T81/44
 T4/2>light blue T81/45
 T4/4>white.  T81/46
 It'll always follow you
Well now you have to power the button so you have to look for a +12, in my case I went back to the dimmer on the T6
37BF327A-3789-4AD5-A6DA-BF3FC87795FD.jpeg.32fe2eb96349fde61e0fa6bd39f12384.jpeg
So t4/1>black/blue on T6/4
And transplant the T6/4 on the plug provided in the wiring

That's it for the connection part, it's over
Now you have to activate the mdrrrr thing because otherwise all this is useless

 Take your vagcom
 Go in 1 engine
 Then selected 11
 And return 11463
 And okay
 And There you go
 Then check the controller functions
Go to measurement group and select channel 6
Then turn on the regulator you must have a 1 in the box on the right

Then if you brake on the 2nd box 0.1.1
5C67296B-09EC-4D92-8271-CEACB312F0F9.jpeg.85545e8560b2c4cf614e43fc4b919621.jpeg
What if you brake and gear 1.0.0

So everything is ok you just have to reassemble everything and take advantage of your cruise control
 Thanks for reading me

Really great info. Can you write a complete "how-to" and it can go in there as a permanent reference. Lots of pics, with no links (sometimes the photo links stop working). 👍🏻
