LiamD Posted September 27, 2007 Report Share Posted September 27, 2007 Its recommended that they are done every 40K or 4 years, which ever is soonest.SO if its not 4 years since it was last done then you could leave it.I changed mine at 60k as recommended... as part of a 60k service. VW have changed it to 40k or 4 years, as the tensioners are plastic and seem to break up early.
