you are opening probably one of the biggest cans of worms club lupo has ever seen!! laugh.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

to be honest mate there isnt much difference. a 6 speed is in my opinion a novelty item. just a bit of a gimmick to be honest.

my 5 speed is absolutely spot on. pulls like a train in every gear i couldnt fault it. i believe the times between speeds vary a touch with the 5 speed quicker 0 - 60 and but the 6 speed quicker 40 - 70 or something like that.

do a search you will find endless amounts of opinions.

i think you would be happy with either to be honest smile.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

I would have thought the 6 speed box means you can cruise more comfortably on motorway trips in 6th gear at lower revs, perhaps giving you slightly better mpg due to better efficiency of gear usage.

But I've never had a 6 speed car before.

I drove my 6 speed against Luke's (db) 5 speed back to back and can honestly say there isn't a lot in it.

The 6 speed is picks up much better in 2nd from low revs. We also found that at low speed you can just roll along in 3rd (our housing estate has speed bumps, hence the slow speed) in the 6 speed and the 5 really struggled and you had to change down to 2nd.

hahaha @ whoever said it's a novelty.

The 6th gear is not a crusing gear, the ratios are spread out between all of the gears.

A long a twisty road i'd imagine (only ever driven a 6 speed myself) it's easier to keep in the power band.

Anyone agree?

Either way I don't think it's a novelty.

Whatever you buy, it's going to be **** hot so no problems...

I think the 6spd is great fun when you're really going for it, and also really calm when you're just cruising along the motorway. If you really want to, you can drop from 6th to 5th if you want even more pull when you overtake cheeky.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky:" border="0" alt="cheeky.gif" />

i still cant see there being any real performance benefits over a 5 speed to suggest its not much more than a novelty.

im not just sticking up for us 5 speeders! lol. id quite happily have a 6 speed.

my car really flies up through the gears. id have imagined the 6 speed would be all gearchange and no real pushing!! if you get me.

surely the 5 speed stays in the power band longer though as the ratios are longer??

I love my 6th gear.... 80 is 2,200rpm smile.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

in more Lupo-related news, I've driven 5 and 6 speeds, and there's not a lot in it. but 6-speed is better for willy waving smile.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
