RallyeBaz
Looking in some old files it looks like its a common problem.I am getting virtually no stone chips on the bonnet but now have at least 5 on my windscreen. After hearing about a horror story in The Golf mag that Steve from C&R worked on a MK3 Golf, which had corroded A pillars due to a replacement windscreen, should I just have the chips repaired or can anyone recommend a decent replacement windscreen fitter. twisty b-road
Repair is the preferred option I reckonLast screen I had done on me last car they never glued it properly and it leaked loads of rain water
RobinA3
your insurance group should be able to sort you ut with a new windscreen without affecting your no claims, all you have to do is pay a window excess which should be about £50i have had mine replaced 3 times due to big ass stones! BigMon
Some insurance policies will pay for you to have your windscreen chips fixed. Not too sure on the why's and the wherefore's but if you dig out your documents and give your company a bell they'll be able to tell you.Not that I've done this myself with the chip on my windscreen. RallyeBaz
The problem is driving on fast `A-roads` to and from work I am getting a stone chip on the windscreen at least once a month. Can anyone confirm the zones/size of damage that this would be a MOT failure as its due in June. Crusoe
Think the failure zone is anything taht impairs the vision within the sweep of your driver side wiper, bedt to get it replaced fro £50 if your insurance covers it. Shouldn't be a problem getting a new one bonded in, stealer might do it for you if you didn't trust autoglassglazingscreen people.
