Went into Seat to talk about getting my cambelt changed for a rough price.....

The man went 'ermmm' looked at the service charges, just pointed to a Ibiza TDI cambelt change and said it'll be £395 for the cambelt change on your Arosa confused.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="confused.gif" /> ohmy.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":o" border="0" alt="ohmy.gif" />

Then I phoned my nearby VAG specialist, he said he can do it for £250 inc parts. I don't understand as the workshop manual quote 2 hours to do the cambelt so how have Seat got £395 from?

Dealers are stealers mad.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="mad.gif" />

There the same for every maufacturer main stealer everywhere! i.e. my dads rangie needed a service and oil change the stealer wanted £400 a LR specialist wanted £295 and even when you tell the stealer that so and so can do it for x amount they just cant match it!

Sounds about right, my local dealer wanted £295 for a 40,000 mile service + another £90 for a brake fluid change. Went to another garage (whose mechnics are VW trained) & got quoted £180 for the lot!
