I dont think so, although I've never tried.

To me it looks as though the speaker is bonded in place.

To be honest its pointless upgrading the speakers without upgrading the mount.

Cut out a MDF ring to mount the speaker to, this will be much more solid, and give a much improved sound.

Would work as well as the ones that are fitted now smile.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Although if it was me, the cash that Id save by not buying the plastic ones, Id spend on a Jig Saw

The plastic ones will do the job though.

  • 4 weeks later...

Some speakers are 165mm while others are 170mm?

Autoleads brackets say the size is 165mm speakers but will 170mm woofers fit in them? blush.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" />

I'm not a thumping, jumping bass, disco diva, rev head type of guy, but I do like good music and a decent sound.

I put JBL 626 in my front connected to the SEAT Alana head unit (sourced from an Ibiza) Sound pretty OK to me, though I used the plastic mounts and would agree that you would probably get better sound making an MDF mount.

Only thing is with the two tweeters the treble can be a bit high on some tracks.

Hey ho! Enjoy!

Now where did I put that Tony Bennet cd...

S!
