How to: Fit mk4 Golf Recaro Seats

Recommended Posts

Right, firstly my seat frame were not bent as first suspected and as it turned out i also hae the same problem as adam k and saz! so this is mainly for them!

Take your mk4 recaro seat and strip off all the plastic panels from the base section!

You will see 2 star bolts at the point where the seat pivots remove these (if your recaros have airbags un clip wires)

You should be left with 2 halfs of the seats!

Take the base part and un peel the seat cover!

Now lift the foam and seat cover out as one!

You should be left with a black metal tray!

Now go and remove the lupo seat via the 2 13mm nuts at the front and slide back!

Remove plastic as before!

You will see 2 star bolts at the point where the seat pivots remove these

You should be left with 2 halfs of the seats!

Take the base part and un peel the seat cover!

Now lift the foam and seat cover out as one!

You should be left with a black metal tray!

You should notice that the recaro base has metal supports that fit in the bolsters (bent rod) your lupo seats will not have this!

Now for some destruction DSC00057.jpg border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" alt="" />

Clean them up and tack them on to the lupo frames!(dont wory if they are a little out you can bend them easy)

Try the seat foam if its all ok re clip the cover in to place!

Now take the recaro seat back and fit on to the modded lupo base!

Fit the seat into the car and enjoy! DSC00059.jpg border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" alt="" />

Happy modding
