Dave
Am thinking of upgrading the Head Unit on my GTi, can someone please enlighten me on how the head unit can be removed, how easy it was, and any problems you have encountered along the way.TaDave
Lupo TDI
Go to your dealer, cause you need some "special" keys. I don't know if the old sony ones work, but a friendly dealer should do it without asking £££ style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> I never had a VW headunit, so I can't tell you ihow to do it without the original VW keys

Man3
Any decent audio shop should have the VAG release keys, we've got a set at Ripspeed and think its possible to order a set for yourself for not much money. I'm only speakin on the behalf of the store i work at and we lend em to people all the time so they can do it in the car park. Best idea is to just ask around cos you know VW would charge you, i wouldn't be surprised if they charged you to breath air in their showroom! MattyB
Don't go buying special keys, just cut up a credit card into thin strips and do that.Worked for me, and my Sisters Arosa unit. And its free!
